1 cup plain flour
1/3 cup caster sugar
1tsp baking powder
2 tbsps (28g) melted butter
1/3 cup of milk plus extra for the glaze
1 tsp vanilla extract
For Vanilla Glaze
1/2 cup icing sugar sieved
1 small pinch salt
1 to 2 tbsps milk
Optional toppings and food colouring
Preheat oven to 170°C
Spray your donut pans with a little oil.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In another bowl whisk the melted butter, egg,milk and vanilla extract.
Add the wet mixture to the dry and mix to combine. Be careful not to over mix.
Pipe the mix into your pan just less than 3/4 full, they rise and if over full the whole will disappear.
Bake for 10 minutes and glaze.
Place in fridge to set.
Mix the ingredients together until smooth.
Dip the warm donuts in top and bottom. Place on a cooling wrack with wax paper underneath to catch the drips. Once all have been dipped, repeat again. This gives a nice thick glaze.
