French Toast is one of the easiest and tastiest things to eat. It is forgiving and can be used with pretty much any flavours that you like. This one is a real favorite, if you want a little more heat, add cayenne or chilli instead of the smoked paprika.
Ingredients
6 slices sourdough (I used rye sourdough)
2 tsps Dijon mustard
3 eggs
100g grated parmesan cheese
2 tsps worcestershire sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
Milk
Butter 3 taps
Grapeseed oil 2 taps
Method
In a large deep dish whisk the eggs, parmesan cheese, paprika, mustard and worcestershire sauce.
Add a splash of milk a tablespoon at a time 3 to 4 should do it, more or less if you need it.
Drop in the sourdough and leave for 3 minutes then turn over to soak the other side.
Once most of the liquid has been absorbed, add the butter and grapeseed oil to a frying pan on medium heat.
Add 3 slices of the soaked sourdough and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown. Turn over and spoon any left over liquid on top.
Once golden brown, remove from the pan and place onto kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
Serve.
